A Brief Introduction to Foreign Medical Sciences: TCM Section

Foreign Medical Sciences: TCM Section is a state-level technical journal, sponsored by the Institute of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine, China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, under the Ministry of Public Health. Started in 1978, it is a publication of 16mo, 64 pages bimonthly, distributed in China and abroad. It collects references from more than 100 biomedical journals, including periodicals of traditional Chinese medicine and pharmacology, acupuncture moxibustion and other related journals, published in foreign countries in English, Japanese, Germany, French and Russian, as well as from related international meeting materials. It reports, in the forms of review, translation and abstract, the latest advances and trends of researches in the fields of traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese materia medica, acupuncture and moxibustion, acupuncture anesthesia, Qigong, massage, etc. It is a unique domestic journal, which deals with overseas information on traditional Chinese medicine, and serves as a chief reference journal in the overseas section of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Literature Retrieval System.

In the 20 years since its publication, the journal has been enjoying a high reputation and is warmly welcomed by readers. It won a second price in the assessment of the journals in Foreign Medical Sciences series sponsored by the Health Ministry in 1990, and a second price of excellent journal in the 1st national assessment of excellent TCM journals sponsored by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1995.

The editorial department of the journal wishes to communicate and cooperate widely with TCM enterprises and related organizations to make the journal more perfect and contribute further to developing and rejuvenating traditional Chinese medicine.
