Beijing Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Beijing Municipal Hospital of traditional chinese medicine, founded in May 1956, is the sole municipal, general hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCMP) in . It undertakes the tasks of TCM treatment, clinical education, scientific research and health care, ect in Beijing.

The hospital is located at the center of Beijing city. It occupies an area of 60,000 m2 with 600 beds and 3,000 out-patients everyday. The staffs are 1,300 medical and technical personnel account for 76% including 165 persons with high ranking professional titles, among of them 23 persons are nationwide famous physicians with extraordinary dedication to our country.

The Hospital has 26 clinical departments and 70 out-patient rooms for special diseases such as coronary heart disease, rheumatosis, various hepatitis, kindney disease, male diseases, lupus erythematosus, psoriasis, cerebral vascuar diseases and cancers etc.. The treatment has already reached domestic and international advanced levels.

The hospital is equipped with quite a number of medical equipments auch as Large diagnostic X-ray machine, CT scanner, Color Doppler, Automatic biochemical analysor, etc.. They provide accurate and reliable data for diagnosis. The Hospital's Pharmaceutical department produces more than 260 kinds of Chinese patent medicine with excellent effects.

During the past 40 years, the hospital has won 209 national award of scientific achievements, including 24 ministry programs, 55 municipality programs, 130 bureau programs. At present the hospital and institute has undertaken 48 research programs, including 6 state programs, 1 municipality programs, 3 municipal new star plan programs, ect..

The Hospital has woned the titles of National Advanced Unit of the Health System, "Class A Hospital", "Outstanding Unit of National Health System", " Civilized Unit", "The Trusted Unit of Prices for Medical Service", etc. In December 1995, Beijing Health Bureau designated our Hospital to administer Xiaotangshan Hospital, which is located at Eastern (Hot Spring Resort) with 750 beds for in-patient.
