Gulou Traditional chinese Medical Hospital came into being in 1951 which is attached to Beijing Union University TCMP college, and became the teaching hospital of Beijing University of TCMP 30 years later. In 1993, with the approval of the Municipal Government, the Ministry of public health and the state Administration of Traditional Chinese medicine “ Beijing well-known Hospiatal” was set up. After 3 years, it was officially renamed as “Gulou TCM Hospital attached to Beijing Union University TCMP college” by the Dongcheng Dist. Health Bareau and Beijing administration of TCM. In the same year, it was also appointed to be a teaching hospital for Beijing Acupuncture and bone fracture college. This hospital was evaluated as a hospital of second level class A, and became qualified for treating foreign patients in the next 2 years.
