THE
CHINESE MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
The
Chinese Medical Association (CMA) is a national academic organization
of health care professionals with the goal of promoting the development
of medical science and technology in order to improve the health of the
people, foster research, train managerial personnel, promote academic
exchanges, and inform the public on health issues. It publishes 67 medical
journals. With over 430,000 members, it recognizes 75 specialty societies.
Although the CMA is considered a private organization of professionals,
its elected President, Dr. Zhang Wenkang is also the Minister of Health.
